An Evening in the Pacific Gala Night

27 May 2017

Start time: 07.00PM

'An Evening in the Pacific' invites you under our 'Fale' (house) to share this beautiful culture, which has transitioned to new heights- featuring Opetaia Foa'i (Te Vaka) and J. Williams. The evening will be the first in Australia’s history.

The creator, composer and front-man of award winning Polynesian band 'Te Vaka', and recent songwriter for Disneys's Moana soundtrack. Opetaia Foa'i has brought you such hits as 'Pate Pate', 'Tamahana', 'We Know The Way' (Moana) and 'Logo Te Pate' (Moana). He will be accompanied by a small selection of Te Vaka band members, bringing you a rare and intimate contemporary Polynesian performance.

J. Williams wrote his first song at the tender age of 15. A chance encounter lead to J Williams being discovered by NZ Label ‘Illegal Musik’ This impactful moment marked the beginning of the J Williams venture. In 2009, Williams released his debut album ‘Young Love’ which reached number 5 on the New Zealand charts.
